The RSCTA Collie Event
MAY 8th 2005
The RSCTA promised "A Day of Agility, Obedience and Fun" and on Sunday May 8th it duly delivered! |

| Introductory agility gave people who had done little or no agility the chance to find out what agility is all about and to have a go, with training, help and advice being offered by Paul and Penny Sensky and Jean Tuck who have been competing regularly with their dogs for the past few years. Without exception all the dogs quickly conquered everything they tried and all the handlers were amazed at what their dogs could do. Even little Marli fancied having a go at the tunnels and doesn't he look pleased with himself! Hopefully, a star of the future. More pictures |

Whilst some dogs were participating in the Agility, others were practicing for their Kennel Club Good Citizens Tests under the guidance of Ruth Lambert and Steph Whittingham. RSCTA member Penny Evans very generously devoted her time to judging the Good Citizens tests and it is with great pleasure that we congratulate the following for successfully passing the tests: Bronze: Delia Moores' Smooths Sally (Southcombe Styled in Gold for Manordeifi) and Purdey (Manordeifi Party Doll), Ruth Lambert's Brenin (R) and Sharon Hayes' Cassie (R). Silver: Anne Stilgoe's Honey (Foxearth Fatal Beauty at Yeldust), handled by Adam Hiscock (S) and Cheryl Robinson's Chloe (S), plus Ruth Lambert's Brenin (R) and Sharon Hayes' Cassie (R). | During lunch, several Fun Games took place including Musical Downs, Fetch the Sausage and the Sausage and Spoon race, in which the majority of the dogs participated. Great fun was had by all and all the dogs seemed particularly pleased with the Fetch the Sausage game, even if none of the sausages made it back to the handlers! |

In the afternoon there was an opportunity for the more experienced agility handlers amongst us to get some expert Competitive Agility Training advice from Mark Douglas who was the top ABC (Anything But (Border) Collie) agility handler in 2004. His training marked the highlight for many RSCTA members and was watched keenly by those who will hopefully now look to start Agility training with their dogs. More pictures |

On top of all this a raffle was held and there was a general opportunity for fellow RSCTA members to meet, many for the first time, discuss all things Collie and simply have a lot of fun with their dogs. Look out for future RSCTA events on this website! More pictures |
