RSCTA Fun Day - Sunday October 3rd 2010

The RSCTA Fun Day 2010 was held at Jay McCartan's lovely venue at Old Brampton, Chesterfield, kindly offered when Liz Beaumont's dogs came down with kennel cough, making our planned venue too risky in case the outbreak continued.

The weather was not the best, but 15 handlers with 3 Rough and 15 Smooth Collies braved the elements to train in Agility and try the new sport of Rally Obedience.  Rally Obedience has dogs and handlers following a marked course, with a different obedience task to fulfil at each numbered position.  As usual the Collies coped well with what was asked of them, and even those new to agility soon gained confidence.  Fun competitions were held in both sports.  

Gaining places in the Morning Rally Obedience competition were Charlotte Yeo with Ellie, Jean Tuck with Scott, Tom with Barney, Val Neff with Poppy, Paula Meacham with Kallum and Kirsty Russell with Dilys.
In the afternoon RallyO places went to Charlotte Yeo with Ellie, Jean Tuck with Glen, Delia Moores with Dusty, Liz Beaumont with Cody and Penny Evans with Jeeves.
In 'beginners' agility places were gained by Charlotte Yeo with Millie, Delia Moores with Dusty, Delia Moores with Suzi, Penny Evans with Jeeves and Charlotte Yeo with Ellie. The winner of the 'advanced' class was Penny Evans with Tara.
