The Rough & Smooth Collie Training Association

The Crufts Relay Team competition has qualifiers at 8 or 9 shows during the year.  The winning team from each size at each show is invited to Crufts.

Large Team: The RSCTA Large Team ran at Nottingham Show in 2009, putting in a very good performance.  Team members were Marie Douglas with Foxearth Speckled Wood AW, Janice Palfrey with Foxearth Afternoon Georgia, Sarah Davis with Cownbred Shecan Cancan and Paul Sensky with his BSD, standing in for the sadly indisposed Alanita Murphy’s Original AW(S).

We hope to get enough handlers and dogs together to run another team soon.  Please let us know if you have a R or S Collie and would like to take part.

Medium Team:  The RSCTA Medium Team qualified for Crufts 2010 at Rugby Show in July 09, having come 2nd at Beacon and at Nottingham.  At Crufts 2010 the team (called RSCTA Rough with the Smooth) came 2^nd in the semis and 3^rd in the Finals.  [Picture top left: L to R: Amanda & Minx (Toller), Jean & Scott (Sheltie), Laura & Mia (Staffie) and Karen & Rogue (Toller)].

The Medium Team has qualified for Crufts 2011 by winning at Beacon (they also won at Nottingham).  Karen is normally the reserve handler, the usual partnership being Amanda S. with Twix (Poodle).

Small Team: The RSCTA Small Team (RSCTA Ruff Diamonds) also qualified for Crufts 2011 by winning at Beacon (they came 2nd at Nottingham).  [Picture top right: L to R: Trish (with Dee, Cavalier), Dave (with Cayen, Papillon), Dorothy with Penny (Sheltie) and Aljeana (with Amy, Cocker)]

Note: The Small & Medium teams boost membership income and gain the Club publicity, and obviously have to be made up of non-Collies because of the size constraint.  The RSCTA Large Team is reserved for Rough & Smooth Collies.
